has the Emergency & Transitional Accommodation for Women on its premises at 285 Hereford Street. |

The Women’s Emergency and Transitional Accommodation is for women with or without children (boys aged under 12). No bookings taken. An interview is required to access accommodation. A weekly rental is required and usually paid in advance. Rooms are pleasantly furnished, linen and all necessary equipment is available in the accommodation units. No additional charge is made for telephone, internet and power. Tokens are required to use the clothes drier. Residents provide their own food. There is a common lounge for visitors/whanau and can be booked for a few hours. Assistance is available for women to apply to HNZ, CCC and private rental situations to get a long-term and permanent accommodation. Alcohol, drugs or non-prescribed medication are prohibited on the premises and no resident will be admitted if under the influence of prohibited substances. The YWCA has a zero tolerance policy for non-prescription drugs, alcohol, violent/abusive behavior and non payment of rent. Other services in the Community Centre:
